The Miami Heat and Oklahoma City Thunder are in the midst of what many are calling one of the most exciting NBA Finals in recent memory.

Say what you want about LeBron James, but there comes a point where one needs to set aside the disdain and hate for him and soak in the skills he displays on the court.

Aside from James, I would venture to say the most important player on the Miami ... Read More

Yes, the runner was called out on this play.

Chances are your team has been hit with the umpire bug at some point this season.

What's the umpire bug you ask? To put it nicely, it is when the umpire completely loses focus of what he is doing on the field and blows a call that could directly change the outcome of the game.

I'm usually on ... Read More

The Oklahoma City Thunder took Game One at home with a 105-94 victory over the Miami Heat.

There has long been this notion that major sports media outlets discount the West Coast in just about every sport.

Quick, don't blink, but as of this writing the Los Angeles Kings are on the front page of both ESPN.com and FOXSPORTS.com. Chances are once you hit those pages in a few hours it will have been replaced by either the Eurocup or the NBA Finals.

I can't argue with ... Read More

Imagine this scenario for just a second...

The NBA as we know it has folded. Every single player that was in the NBA is now unemployed. That is until a group of 30 people purchased franchises for a new professional basketball league.

The pool of former NBA players are waiting to be ... Read More

By now you've read about or witnessed the worst split decision in the history of boxing that took place Saturday night in the Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley fight.

Granted, there have been some horrible decisions before, but this one was exponentially worse than any of the head-scratchers that I can recall.

Earlier this month Yahoo! reported that ... Read More

The UFC heads to Sunrise, Florida for tonights UFC on FX 3 event. Headlining the event is an exciting flyweight rematch between Demetrious Johnson and Ian McCall.

You're not going to find a lot of the big names that the ****** UFC fans are familiar with on this card, but for those who follow MMA, you know there are plenty of good matchups for this card on FX.

One of the most common things I've heard since the playoffs began is, "I don't care who wins, as long as it's not the Heat."

Are you one of those people?

As somebody who writes 25-50 sports articles and blog posts on various sites throughout the week, I need to try and carry as open of a mind as possible. For whatever reason I too feel a dislike ... Read More

Look out Texas, Los Angeles is closing in fast.

Just two weeks ago the Texas Rangers were coasting along with an eight game lead over the last place Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

As of today that lead has been trimmed down to 4.5 games and the Rangers now see Los Angeles in their rear view mirror.

Sure, the season is just one-third of the way ... Read More

As soon as the final horn sounded after Dwyane Wade's missed three-point attempt, I took some time to think about what I had just witnessed.

On one hand, the Boston Celtics tied the series at two games apiece. On the other hand, the end of the game didn't include Paul Pierce or LeBron James because they had both fouled out.

This all occurred ... Read More

San Antonio fans have tasted nothing but success since April 12 when their Spurs beat Memphis. Head Coach Gregg Popovich has led his squad to 20 consecutive wins.

If one takes into account the longest winning streaks in NBA history, this would be good for third on the list.

I'm a firm believer in jinxes. ... Read More

Frank Mir failed in his attempt to recapture the heavyweight championship last night as he lost to Junior dos Santos in the second round by TKO.

Mir only had one strong attempt at a takedown against Dos Santos and that came early in the first round. After Mir shot in for the takedown, Dos Santos spun away and avoided Mir's heal-hook attempt.
